Responsible and humane work

  • Diversity and Inclusion

At Valamis, all employees are treated equally regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Equality is behind everything we do, from recruitment and salary discussions to career development and benefits. Every year we survey our employees’ wellbeing and satisfaction.

We want to give everyone the chance to tell us if we’re doing a good job upholding their values, plus provide them the opportunity to give feedback or suggest any improvements.

  • Inclusive Hiring Practises

It’s common knowledge that women are underrepresented in the IT industry. One of Valamis’ aims is to actively balance the companies gender ratio by attracting and recruiting women into tech roles. There is complete gender equality at Valamis, salary categories are equal for all for the same job, and there are no gendered titles.

In addition, Valamis is passionate about hiring employees from all age groups, whether they are fresh out of school or have a long successful career behind them.

The company also participates in programs to support those who want to receive training for a new role and career change.

  • Wellbeing

Employee wellbeing is a primary focus at Valamis, and the company offers a wide range of benefits to support employee mental and physical wellbeing.

The HR team works hard to solve wellbeing challenges by offering a wellbeing program that is constantly developed to meet employee needs.

Across our offices, suggestions for wellbeing improvements can differ, and employees enjoy learning what wellbeing looks like from one country office to another. For example, although it is impossible to go ice-swimming in the Jaipur office, the Indian team is empowered to pick their own wellbeing activities!

Helping customers to cut their environmental footprint

Millions of people use Valamis around the world to learn. Valamis helps its customers in cutting their environmental footprint by decreasing the need for travelling to learn, and the need for physical learning materials. When Valamis customers use the learning system, the digital learning materials can be scaled to serve as many people as necessary.

Valtech's Story

Environmentally friendly operations

Valamis aims for environment friendly activities with all its operations and purchases. As a SaaS company, our biggest environmental impact comes from servers, business travel and office energy consumption. In 2020 we were able to cut energy consumption per end user by 30% through optimizations on servers and software. Every Valamisian is trained to follow our environmental guidelines as part of the onboarding process.

As a culturally diverse workplace, we enjoy participating in all meaningful celebrations. This is Diwali.

Valamis sponsors several sports teams, including football, Finnish baseball and cheerleading.

We hosted an insightful webinar on the tactics organisations use to drive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

An employee event took Valamisians outdoors to pick up trash.

Valamisians were encouraged to take part in a wellbeing challenge.
